Meet Phil Loughman, facilitator of the Articulate Thinkers chapter.
During his working life, Phil has been fortunate to experience three distinctively different careers. During twenty-eight of those years, he owned four companies in the landscape industry including Boulder’s flagship design/build firm. In addition to being a licensed Landscape Architect, Phil wore all of the other hats that come with business ownership. When he sold L.I.D. Landscapes it had grown to fifty employees and their projects had received 24 national and state awards. His second career of 14 years was in higher education administration with three major university systems. During this time he was responsible for campus planning, construction project and real estate management plus starting and administering a faculty/staff housing program. During the most recent four and a half years, he has been ab associate with with Boulder’s largest business brokerage firm representing the sellers in numerous business sales. Along the way, Phil also had an opportunity to consult with and provide educational programs for several educational institutions, landscape companies and businesses in related fields. Phil has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and has held several licenses Registered Landscape Architect, General Contractor and Real Estate Broker. He and his wife Cindy enjoy the good life in rural Larimer County, many outdoor activities, a bit of traveling and their extended family. The latter includes indulging their grandchildren as much as they think is reasonable.
I have been blessed to have many mentors in my life that have helped me in my journey. I found myself seeking purpose after my kids had moved out of the house. Being a LoCo facilitator is an ideal way for me to have a fulfilling role and help other businesses and business leaders grow.
This chapter meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 8:00-12:00.
